Travel by Train for a stay at a beach frontage location

    I am looking for a, 1 day trip / 1 night stay, where I can travel by train in August either at a

    1. a beach frontage location (hotel, apartment, B&B etc)
    2. City break

    There are two families with total 8 people.

    Any suggestions?

    you don't say where you're based/want to travel to. it'd be a bit trite to point out that much of the dart line will take you to hotels etc. which are near beaches.

    sligo or ballina would be an option. train to sligo, taxis out to rosses point?
