For me it's Alex Lifeson's solos in either Freewill or la villa Strangiato by Rush.

There are many to chose from but at the moment for me it's Angus Young's solo to Squeler. Sure it's not as technical as Malmsteen or Vai but it is pure balls to the wall, gonna shag your missus, rock and roll. He was only 20 when he recorded it too.

That's gas, I've listened to Aqualung thousands of times but honestly didn't know what solo you were talking about. Had to listen to it there.

It's a good solo but I think it's overshadowed by the insanely iconic riff through the rest of the song. To the point where I didnt even notice it anyway!
