Hi..the weekend after a trip to London there are now 30 small debit transactions on the account. 15 have the prefix C1404GB and 15 are NECLSCHGGP. What are these in relation to please?

The first set of transactions are payments you made with your card. The second set (NECLSCHGGP) are fees the bank charges on currency exchange, one for each of the C1404GB transactions.

You can check the fees on this page.

    Hi Star 10,

Yes, the above information provided by Joy Pad is correct in relation to the narrative on the transactions.

1404 also refers to the 14th of April when the transactions were carried out.

If you need further information on what these transactions are in relation to, please contact our colleagues on 0818 365 365 from ROI or +353 1 404 4000 if calling from abroad between 9am to 5pm Mon-Fri,10am-2pm Saturdays and we can help with this.

    Thanks,

    Declan

Thanks for the replies. Why are the names of the transactions changed to C1404GB? How are you supposed to work out what’s what???

Did you use contactless on the tube?

I was there a few months ago and all of the tap on and tap off contactless machines on the tube generated a small charge, in addition to the daily charge after midnight.

I presume it's due to an Irish card being used in the UK, as the locals don't get charged these contactless charges.

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch with us here.

1404 refers to the 14th of April when the transactions were carried out. 'GB' is for British Pound sterling. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,Niamh.

Why do they remove the name of the company the transaction was made at an out a number instead???

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us.

As the transaction was made in a different currency, we would show the exchange rate on your statement rather than the name of the company. This is how these transactions are processed. Our live chat team are available through the link below from 9:15-4:30 Monday-Friday. They can help with confirming the transactions if you are unsure of the retailer.

    Thanks, Megan
