2017 Skoda superb

Hi just looking for advice on a 17 superb, ex hackney taxi, looking at buying it.

Car is very clean, has 160,000 miles, but has a great main dealer history, serviced every 10k miles. Also had clutch flywheel, and timing belt done recently.

Should I be overly concerned about the high mileage, or does the excellent service history make up for that.

Service history trumps mileage, always. (In my opinion)

I'd rather purchase a 300,000km well serviced diesel over a same year but 80,000km that hasn't seen an oil change since it left the factory.

Is there a service history for every 10k miles service interval done or just the seller's word? Main dealer servicing every 10k miles on a taxi that does a lot of driving seems a bit hard to believe as it would work out overly frequent and expensive for a car that does a lot of mileage like a taxi.

Skoda tend not provide a hardcopy or stamps in the book for services so unless he has receipts for each service showing what was done and/or specifically asked for his book to be stamped each time it might be worth looking at it closer.

Not really a concern as long as the service history checks out and the mileage is reflected in the price. It should be thousands cheaper than a low mileage example

Yea actually every 15k, fully stamped local dealership. Nice comfortable car and had had clutch flywheel done in main dealers too, all motorway miles. Should be fine

It was a taxi, not a company car. Definitely wasn’t motorway miles

So the servicing was done at a local garage but flywheel and clutch were done by the main dealer? Have you verified the service history with the local garage as otherwise anyone could stamp a service book to make a convincing story?

Also you originally said it was a taxi so how do you know it was all motorway mileage? Taxis can do all sorts of driving.

Local dealership, Irish car and serviced in local Skoda garage. This car was mainly used for airport runs, so mostly motorway. Know the owner. Main point of topic is just to see if id be looking at problems down the line, I don't do high mileage probly 12,000 year. Timing belt and flywheel were also done at local dealership recently. Checked all receipts.
