Passat inlet manifold gasket on 08, fix or move on?

I bought an 08 Passat estate in 2013 for €11,500. A fair bit was spent in the last couple of years including clutch, master and slave cylinder, cv boots, and calipers. A new timing belt was installed in 2020 at 203k miles - the car had 98k on it when I bought it but the engine was a brand new factory recall replacement. It's served me well enough but like all cars cost. Averaging out that principal cost and money spent on repairs/maintenance it's been €260 per month for that time (not counting insurance/fuel).

So Easter week I noticed a fair collection of oil on the driveway, a bunch of spots not just one. A couple of days later it did not start when we were away and the breakdown garage diagnosed the problem as the inlet manifold gasket needed replacing, said they have done a fair few of them before and it's €600-€700. My own garage has no capacity to look at it for a couple of weeks so I have not got it towed back to base yet.

I've been carrying a couple of issues with it too...the driver door has not been opening from the outside for a few weeks(both front locks struggle to open for maybe 5 or 6 days a year when it's at its coldest) and my driver side wing is dented around the wheel housing.

So my question is, is the inlet manifold gasket failing a sign of something else potentially or can I be sure that replacing it will mean it's good to go for another while?

In an ideal world I'd get another 5 years from it and then go electric maybe. If I am going to replace it, the cost of a 5-year-old car has, of course, climbed massively in the 10 years.
