Reusing paving sand

Hiya. I'm pulling up old concrete patio slabs, to put down new limestone paving. The old job has a hard compacted base, and then a layer of sand, which the slabs were laid on. The new limestone slabs are being cemented on to the hard base. What I'm wondering is - as I lift the old slabs, can I reuse the sand they were laid on for the cement mix when it comes to laying the limestone. Would save me time/money & the effort of storing and disposing of the original sand. It seems pretty clean sand, but I'm just wondering if I'm missing something

    thanks
