Water mains sizes 1980s

Hi team I'm on a rural group water scheme, pipes all fitted in the early 80s... I recently had to shut off the water at the stop cock entering our property and noticed a few leaks one from the mains shut off valve and multiple from our inline water strainer filter body. I suspect they all cracked in the cold we had on December and January.

Anyway, I was measuring the pipes to see what size fittings I'd need to fix all this and it seems my pipes are about 21.5mm diameter external....

Google is turning up nothing. And screwfix etc seems to suggest all mains plastic pipe should be 20mm,25mm or 3/4".....

Any ideas what I'm dealing with it's a 21.5mm black plastic pipe, with plastic fittings. There's some very handy looking 20mm push fittings but I don't want to invest if my odd pipe won't work

I'm very handy with diy just struggle to find the right parts.

    Thanks

Pipe size is most likely 3/4 inch Irish. It would have an outside diameter of about 21mm

Any plumbers merchant would have either compression fittings or Philmac if you needed something push fit. On older pipework compression is likely to be a safer bet.

Be careful buying any pipe or fittings from screw fix. Most are British metric sizes and will get you into bother.
