Wondering about people's opinions on timeframes for legal cases which I know can be lengthy.

If a defendant in a medical negligence case admitted the negligence on 01/10/22, is it normal and acceptable in terms of time frame that the claimant's solicitor or senior council has not acted in any way to move the case forward at this stage on 14/04/23?
