Strange Smell in House

There’s a strange smell on my house. It smells like gas but not really . We had the gas guy who measures the gas out and he could not find anything.

It seems ti be coming from The cabinet beside the TV.

it’s very strong at certain times of the day, especially in the morning. The minute you open the door into sitting room, it hits you.

Any ideas how I sort it, or who I could get to look into it.

Thanks a mill. I’ve a feeling it’s something like that. There’s an old radio /cd player in that press and I’ve just taken it out in case it’s that.

problem is, it’s a build in alcove unit and the wires are coming up behind the cabinet.

Take anything plastic out of it and leave it in another room first for a few days.

We had a bath mat of all things smell awful it was brand new but seems it was off gassing couldn't figure it out for weeks. Threw it in the bin.
