Where to look for a student summer job in Europe

Apologies if this is in the wrong category. My 20 year old son wants to work abroad this summer in Europe. Any ideas on where he might find a basic job before he goes rather than just heading off on his own and hoping to find something when he gets there? Thanks

Like every other year, most students in Europe will be looking for a job this summer and most of them will have the advantage of knowing the local language. It would help if you could narrow it down a bit:

    • What languages does he speak?
    • What countries interests him?
    • What skills and experience does he have?

I like in Switzerland and we have major shortages in the catering and tourist industry. If he has good German/French/Italian then he’d have no problem landing some kind of job in any town. If he only speaks English, well pretty much every student speaks English, so he’d be way back in the queue.

He has good leaving cert level German and excellent experience working as a bar back and waiter here in busy bars and restaurants. If you have any specific leads on places to look it would be great as he's currently studying for 1st year exams and has no time to research this.
