Hi, my husband worked in UK in late 80s /90s and we are trying to see how many years national insurance he has, I have his national insurance number but I am trying to ring HMRC in the UK and wait time is up to an hour. I did ring the pension dept and they told me I need to find out how many years he has in order for them to decide what class stamp 2 or 3 he needs to pay to bring him up to 10 years. Anyone got a better contact number than 0044 191 203 7010? Thanks

Just do it all on line. That's what I done. Once you have the NI number, register an account on Gov.uk and all will be on there... Including how many years you have etc.

    Very useful website here https://www.askaboutmoney.com/forums/qualifying-for-the-uk-state-pension-bonanza.169/

has a lot if not all the answers you need.

    Best of luck

I was there for 4 years but there are some breaks of one or two weeks in my employment due to switching jobs. Can anyone in a similar situation please confirm how this affected you? Thanks
