Are there community/social centres in galway city or thereabouts. Run by the council or churches and so on.

Places to meet others and stop by for a chat.

St Nicholas have a chatty-crafters group that meets once a week.

The VdP place in Mill St had various activities pre covid, not sure what's back.

Cope? Had a lunch club in Mervue.

I think there's 7 across town, All of which run courses or uis that host courses which seem to follow the school year in terms of v when they run. Unless something has changed over last couple of years they rarely run a new adult course at the same time as summer holidays.

THere are alkso a couple of men's sheds across town that run other courses and social events.

Also get GAA hosting a few things, definitely Salthill one has hosted Pot Lucks for people
