6th Gear jumping out of position

    Hi,

I was driving wifes car the other day (2018 Audi A4 TDI) in 6th gear on the motorway cruising at 120kmph (manual gearbox) and all of a sudden the gear jumped from 6th a little and revs flew up.

I just slipped it back into 6th again and off it went.

Any ideas what may cause this?

Would it be a clutch or gearbox problem?

Clutch isn't slipping when I accelerate hard

    Thank you

Unlikely to be a clutch problem. Could be as simple as needing the selector cables adjusted or something internal as worn dog teeth on 6th gear.

    Hard to know without looking.
