Could anyone recommend a heating control that can be controlled from a phone when away from the home.

I don't need any 'smart' features, literally, an On/Off when away and some basic controls when in the house.

Is anything available apart from Nests, Hives, Draytons etc ? Appreciate these would all do the job, just seeing if anything cheaper and more basic is available.

    Many thanks

p.s. saw the lad on YouTube who just hooked up a wifi plug.. defo the cheapest option

If its only to turn on/off the heating and the same with any motorised valves controlling the heating zones then the likes of Tapo smart plugs will work on their App and allow a schedule as well.

Climote will do the job. It has its own chip so works even when wi-fi is down. Some energy providers give this away free of charge for new customer. At least they used to.
