Replacing Bathroom Lock with a Thumb Turn lock

Hi,

I was wondering would one of these ( Bath Turn/Release (Set) - SCP : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools ) be suitable to replace the lock on my bathroom door. I currently have one that uses a key and would look like the attached:

I thought it might, but on receiving I am not sure how to work it. The new lock looks like this.....

The mortice lock would need to be replaced with one that accepts a 5mm spindle instead of a key. Something like this:

Just make sure of your sizes.

Ah ok, different job than I thought it would be so!! Thanks for getting back to me. When you say be sure of my sizes, what should I be looking out for?

I think the backset and plate size are the important ones. If the case or plate are bigger you can channel out more, but if the spindles aren't in the same place or the plate is smaller then it won't work.

If you're unsure you could take the lock to your local Screwfix or other hardware shop.
