Air in heating system

I have solid fuel and oil dual coil hwc. When i use either i can hear tapping and ticking for about 15 mins in pipework and its like a restriction of air it can take several hours for heating to eventually heat. I have solid fuel and oil dual coil hwc. When water is drained down problem gone for a few weeks . Wondering is it air or maybe a block in cold feed ? I did have sludge last year and heating flushed one rad gives a few bangs and can hear water gurgling bled rads several times. Filling loop was resized also to try address the flow rate.
Any feedback would be appreciated
