EuroCarParts

What's the deal with these? I used to use the UK version a bit prior to Brexit. I used their Irish website a few times since until they stopped accepting the UK discount codes, as the prices are more expensive than other stores. I do prefer to support an independent local parts store but sometimes waiting a day for the part to come in just isn't convenient.

Was stuck for a part recently and rang the local EuroCarParts. They had one in stock for 12 euro - it was a 50 euro part. Later, using the product code on the packet I was able to find it on the website where they had it listed for 55 euro.

Now I'm wondering if I should have ignored their online prices in the past and just called in or phoned? Do they generally quote different prices to the website?

I found the online prices/ 'discounts' to be a joke. Often if you call the shop you will get a better price then you'll find online.

Yeah they've gotten very expensive recently, I priced a set of rear calipers for a 335i online yesterday @185 per caliper, I got a set of autodoc for 26 per caliper with a 15 euro deposit.

I priced shocks a few weeks ago over the phone and oonline and it was crazy money.

All my recent orders were a similar situation so I think that will be my last time considering them.

    What's autodoc?

    https://www.auto-doc.ie/

It’s a German parts website, great selection and well priced,

2 downsides to them though, they take ages to deliver, I ordered stuff there and they took 6 days to even dispatch it, and another 9 days before it was delivered. Also delivery is €30 unless you spend €150.

Misterauto is quicker delivery and often have promotions, but Autodoc had stuff I couldn’t get anywhere else. You wouldn’t want to be in a rush.

Like many trade/public places they will have different levels of pricing.

I've bought from TJ o'mahony and as I was doing work on a commercial premises close to them they gave me their trade pricing on the paint I needed. It was eye-opening. 40% came off most items including mixed paints.

Carparts are similar. If you are a regular buyer you most likely can get a "trade" price
