Pilot Redeployment Scheme. How to make it happen?

I applied to this scheme to move to another county where I now reside. I'm commuting at the moment to my permanent teaching job but it is not sustainable. I'm not sure how the scheme works and my colleagues don't know either. Do I actively seek teaching work in the county I want to be redeployed to or are these decisions made by allocations in the department of education? My common sense tells me I should contact all the schools and ETB's in the area in the hope of finding a transfer job but is this allowed under the no canvassing rules? I know I can apply for jobs in my subject area in the hope of being successful and working up to a CID again but I believe the scheme is to allow teachers keep their CID.

If you have applied then that really is all you can do. You are essentially hoping that a school in your chosen area will have a vacancy in your subjects. If so, the department will offer you a place, otherwise there is little else to it. Its just all down to timing really, you may be lucky!
