"Phantom Pain" for several months. What are my options?

Had pain along my upper premolars for the past year or so. Decided to get them both root treated and crowned.

BUT , the pain is still there. The dentist who did them took several xrays and can see no sign of any infection or problem.

The pain used to only be when I bit on them but it has progressed to a constant dull ache that is becoming unbearable.

My dentist says he cant do anything as he sees no problem.

Sometimes it gets so bad that I just want to have them pulled. But it's likely that the pain could remain.

Has any dentist ever come across this type of pain?

I'm really struggling and at a loss. I cant see myself living with this pain for much longer..

    Any help/advise is much appreciated.

Not a dentist but have experienced something like this for short periods. Could it be sinus issues? That’s what it seemed to be for me but obviously each person is different.

I think you should get some other medical opinion, from your GP or an ear, nose and throat specialist, or another dentist. I am sure your dentist would be happy to assist with providing x-rays and other records.

You are in a lot of chronic, persistent pain and all I can say is that I would be careful not to make rash decisions as a result of that pain.
