Rent Credit for 3 Months Renting?

    Hello,

Myself and my husband are both PAYE employees and renting a house for 3 months (March, April and May 2023) in between selling our old house and buying a new build which isn't ready yet.

The rent for the 3 months is €5,000 in total and we are renting through an estate agency so all above board etc.

Does anyone know if we are entitled to claim the rent credit for this time or is there a minimum time you must be renting for?

    Thanks a million.

No minimum time requirement, claim the tax credit. 5000 for 3 months is an odd number and is conveniently the exact amount needed to claim the tax credit in full. But if its all correct then no reason you aren't eligible (the tenancy must be registered with the RTB).

No issues claiming it at all , no time limit on it. You'll get 1k back.

    Brilliant, thank you, that's great and helps us out a bit. 1665 a month x 3 = 4995. Cheers.
