One remote setup for my parents

    Need to buy a new TV for my parents (42inch) and looking to get them a set up that only needs one remote. There not bad with tech but changing remotes is where they get confused.

    My thought is:

    TV with sat tuner for combined saorview and freesat. I have a Sony TV that just about got me there but the Freesat EPG needs to be updates once a week. Are LG TVs better for that?

    A firestick for all apps. I know you get most on the TV but not everything. My Sony TV remote works the firestick, well at least enough to go into apps and select.

    I'm open to getting a combo box if it would be a lot better than the using the tv for satellite but would need to be controlled by the same remote. My understanding is you don't get freesat / saorview boxes so just get FTA without epg? I'd like to keep Ireland and UK channels close together. Ideally add both to a favorite list.

    I also want the setup to be maintenance free obviously! Its kinda one shot to get it right for the next 5/10 years.

    This is what you need. I saw it yesterday when replacing remote. And the buttons are BIG

    Samung TV connected to sky box. = One samsung remote, works a treat. Its simples, you press power tv and box turns on, enter 101 rte, and so on.

    The tv is a 43" 2019 and it is smart as well. Here is a pic of the remote.
