Flowers are something a lot of us ladies like to receive.. but what about the men on here? Do you like to receive them? If ye have never been given any, would ye like to? Have any of ye been given a bouquet?

My initial reaction on reading the opening post - 😳

Although, having given it some thought (because it’s never occurred to me before!), men DO receive bouquets of flowers, in sports like Formula 1 and that sort of thing, for ceremonial reasons.

Receiving flowers for an occasion or ‘just because…’ though? I’d be mortified 😳

Never received flowers, and would wonder at the person who thought I would want them, like were they meant for me, or for themselves? Kinda like when a man buys his wife a new toolbox really 😂

I'll take the cash or sex act equivalent.

I don't understand the flowers thing. 99% of the time they're given as an obligation on some pointless day such as birthdays, anniversaries, valentine's day, or to say sorry for something. Even if it seems spontaneous, the man has a reason or expectation behind it. If you receive flowers from your partner out of the blue then surely you must be wondering why?

But women will be so happy and think their partner is so thoughtful and loving for keeping up this charade/obligation.

As to the OP's question, no I wouldn't like to receive flowers. I wouldn't mind a plant. On leaving my last job, they gave me flowers and I ended up giving them to a sad looking old lady on the subway on my way home.

Yes, have received flowers from time to time, am always delighted. Who wouldn't be? Doesn't happen that often, though.

The smells often irritate my nose so no. If I had the space for them I wouldn't object to receiving an outdoor plant as a gift though.

I randomly buy flowers for my wife and she likes it.

I wouldn't appreciate them, would appreciate other items- Ben and Jerry's ice cream, large Toblerone, a book etc.

thanks for all the replies.. a great variety - cool..

the reason I asked? a male friend of mine asked me the other day.. "how come I never get flowers?"..

so I was curious for 2 reasons - 1. he would like some.. 2. he has never received any

Flowers are great...I love giving them. If a woman bought me flowers I'd think I'd find it sexy.
