Seems very easy to solve. The food comes goes around in closed containers that can only be added to the conveyor by the staff. Once removed, they can be opened but not readded to the belt.

I go to one of these restaurants but for hotpot and it's the meat and veg etc. that goes around and they have lids. Don't even know how you could tamper with them since there are always people checking out what's going around.
