Mazda 323F - reminiscing!

Was cleaning out a cupboard over the weekend and found the Reg Cert for a 323F I had back in 1995. That was either the first or maybe second "new" car I ever bought. Great car in fairness and if I remember correctly it had an electric aerial - wow!!! Also found the receipt for my first service from the main dealer - £62.24...probably a lot back then. Was rear ended after a couple of years and eventually sold it on. Anyway, two questions:

    1) the fact that I have the Reg Cert does that mean I still own it? (obviously joking!)

    2) anyone else ever have one?

Although some leftovers from the previous generation (BG) were sold in 1995, yours must have been a 1994-1998 series (BA for connoisseurs). The electric aerial gives it away 😆 I never had one of those, but I bought a BG 1.6 from 1990 in 1999, and traded that in for a BG 1.8 GT (also from 1990) in 2004 which I owned until 2020 (but off the road since 2015). Was beyond reasonable salvation, unfortunately. Great car indeed.

    Ah the original hairdressser's Porsche.

I could never afford one but some of my richer colleagues indulged. Black was the favoured colour.

Saw one of these in a right state outside an abandoned Mazda dealer at the weekend. Must get a picture.

My brother had two back in the day. He thought they were great motors but I didn't find anything appealing about them at all.

Any car with pop up lights is automatically cool

Used to be known as Tallaght Porsche as well. Easy to steal & much loved by joyriders :)

Are there any still on the road? I think I've seen a BA at some point, but haven't spotted a BG so far (since I moved here last year). Not that it's much better anywhere else, but just curious.

Yep they could be robbed with a spoon! A neighbour used to have an imported lantis type r many moons ago, rare enough back then (used to call it a fake cosworth because of the spoiler) I think it also eventually ended up in flames after a weekend of tarmac terrorism

There were three Mazda 323 types, a saloon, a hatchback and the coupe.

But this thread is specifically in relation to the 323F, the coupé.

More like a liftback, but you do have a point. Especially with the BA generation that also featured a 323 Coupé (2 doors and no F in the name).

Remember the 3 door 323f (also known as the Familia Neo)

    That's not a 323F.

It was actually the first car i looked at when buying my first car. An awful gold colour and probably dodged a bullet.

A friend got a pretty clean 1994 in 2009 and wouldn't part with it. I think it lasted him about 6 months, which is about normal for him
