    Hi all

I have bought a 2019 car from NI on the weekend. It is a NI reg car with first registration in Northern Ireland. However, the owner that I bought it from bought it in 2022 and therefore the v5 date is 2022.

Am i exempt from vat and customs and just pay vrt & nox? Or do I need proof it was in NI prior to brexit. I spoke to the main dealer who sold the car in 2019 said he couldn't give me anything due to gdpr of the buyer. He said since its a NI reg it must have been registered in Northern Ireland and not England.

I have the v5 ,sales invoice, recent mot, service book (only one service in Belfast 2022 and one mot 2023.

What else do I need ?

I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction as the car has only stayed within NI since it's registration.
