Removing Gunk From Glass

I'm not sure if I am posting in the correct forum here but I am attempting to remove glue/sticky resin from the inside of my windscreen left after removing a sticker the previous owner had (stupidly) placed there.

So, I'm left with about six small spots which are proving very difficult to remove using my hands or a plastic scraper. Is there any product that might soften the stuff and make it easier to remove. I don't want to damage the glass .
