Are there any companies in Ireland doing domestic soundproofing?

Hi All,

Have moved into an 80s semi-d and of course neighbour shouting, tv sound and barking dog have become an issue immediately, which is stressful. Does anyone know of any Irish companies who do domestic soundproofing? Quite hard to find info on it.

There's a few YouTube videos with ideas you can try, however you're unlikely to block out all noise

One option is to put a second stud wall on the partition wall between the houses and try to isolate it from the wall and insulate it. Need to seal up things like socket covers as well otherwise they'll let sound through

However, like I said you won't block everything out. There's some shared structure between both houses which will carry sound

Also if they leave a window open then there'll be noise coming in from the outside

If you're planning upgrades to insulation then it can help with sound proofing. It isn't a magic wand and thermal insulation has a different purpose so isn't optimised for sound insulation, but some of them share similar characteristics

So as I said, if you're planning any insulation upgrades then it might be worth asking about noise insulation as well

Its a very tough shot as mentioned already, you will get plenty folk telling you they will sort it but it won't happen in most cases.

The main issue is that noise at 3 am, after a bad curry, is a different animal from at 3pm with all the hustle and bustle of the environment
