    Hello

One new and very happy Mondeo owner

Just spotted some small paint touch ups required

My colour code on the door says RE

I can't locate this anywhere on the Ford colour code system

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks

Ford paint codes if I remember right are 2 numbers not letters.Or else a letter and a number. Usually its the 7th box down on the left of the vin plate. Top box is usually empty.

Better still stick the Vin in here and you`ll get the colour code.

    Brilliant - thanks a mill

This gives me Shadow Black (Mica)

Whats the best way to source this colour?

Would it be a paint spray or a touch-up pen?

If theres a Vinny Byrnes near you thats who I use. Ive never had a mismatched paint from them in 30 years.

As for pen or spray - Depends how big of a touch up. Spray will be harder to get right but will cover a bigger area. Small area is better with pen. The likes of stone chips are better with a pen. Large scrapes- use the spray but mask off around it.You`ll never get a DIY job to look like a body shop job but with the right preparation you`ll do a decent job of it.

Small stone chip marks - sounds like pen would be ideal once I get the right colour

Halfords is about the best we would have locally but can't see anything on there that would be a match

Halfords or your local Ford dealer should be able to sell you a touch up pen.

I always go to the dealer for things like that.

It will never be an exact match but Ford will be as close as you'll get.

Take your time at it and have a look at youtube for guidance. Prep

the panel as good as you can, make sure it is clean and heated if you

    can.

Reminds me to get my finger out and finish my own.
