Hi all - thinking of setting up a Revolut account. What are the Pros & Cons of this service over a normal debit card?

Online Banking in general has a lot of pros, most of which are speed/ease-of-use related. It's easier to make and/or set up regular payments, between you and a service provider e.g. your landlord, ESB bills etc, or between you and your friends sharing the cost of a meal, for example. Essentially, a good online banking allows you to do all the usual banking services yourself, online. You don't need to go to your bank (where they typically ask you to ring someone on their in-bank phone anyway).

In my experience, Revolut have awful customer support. So all the above applies, but only if you don't run into problems.

N26 might also be worth looking in to.

Here's a good i.e. horrifying example of that aforementioned bad service (you may need an Irish Times subscription)
