French and Spanish -Two languages too much?

Trying to help my son pick subjects for 1st year..He will be doing French & has to choose between Spanish and Classics … Is two modern languages too much ( along with Irish ?) I veer between thinking another modern language would be a great opportunity( and we study all the Science subjects together in Junior Cycle )vs…

I veer between thinking another modern language would be a great opportunity( and we study all the Science subjects together in Junior Cycle )vs thinking it might be too hard /confusing ..
Or ,is Classics just more interesting ?
I didn’t study either so would be grateful for any opinions .
He doesn’t mind either way himself !!
