Is a Seat Ibiza a good car for a first time driver.

I am planning on buying my first car(2010-2011) with a budget of 5500 euro. I am interested in buying the seat as it is more affordable than the Volkswagen polo and its essentially a cheaper version of the Volkswagen polo. I would require this car for commuting to work so what would be the main pros and cons of this car (124km a day).

Yeah it should be fine for you. I'd also consider a Toyota yaris but I don't know how they fare regards your budget.

VW up, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii are all the same car and great imo. Lovely to drive and ideal for a learner. Worth getting test drive in. Good luck with your search!

I'm also interested in ford fiesta or a toyota yaris but I really would those two as I have practiced my driving in a Volkswagen polo before and I like the design of the seat.

Vito go and Up are from the class below the Polo, as in they’re smaller.

Yep, they are smaller but for a single person or couple they’d be fine. They often get overlooked. I think that they’re great cars and recommend them when I can 🙂

I wouldn't like to be doing big mileage in them like the OP. Heavy on fuel at motorway speeds. Not an appropriate recommendation at all IMO.

I did 90km a day in one for months, M50 and N7. Got good mpg and found it comfortable. But what can I pass on but my first hand experience….

If your only just interested in a car for driving to work just get a Hyundai or Kia. If you want a small car for driving get a fiesta.

Check out the insurance rating on them first.

A friend got one for her daughter and the insurance was higher than on a polo/Yaris etc.

Firstly I would check insurance on different models, it’s not a given that smaller engine always means smaller insurance.

next, if you’re doing 25k a year just commuting, fuel economy, comfort and safety should be a factor too.

Good example, this Renault Megane Dynamique; economical and reliable 1.5 diesel, good for cruising, has cruise control, a few nice toys, comfortable seats, and a bit more room than a supermini has. They’re not an overly big car either.
