I’m tucking into my boiled egg and toast…. “Are you having your breakfast?”.

If I yawn.

I dont know about this Kate thing but he/she/they make a good point.

I too struggle greatly with people that ask these kinds of questions....

And there's no winning with them either...answer yes or no they get miffed, deploy a bit of sarcasm they get irritated, respond positively they continue with their conversational quicksand slowly drawing you towards the event horizon of wondering if there really is any meaning to life...

There used to be a few computer games in the back room of a pub when I was young, and the men's Jack's was off that room too.

We'd be playing Street Fighter or Bubble Bobble, and this fella, every time he left the jacks, used to ask, "Are ya winning?"

Used to drive me mad, but sure he was only trying to be nice and make a bit of chat
