If I have lost my job this month and need to do a tax back claim, which years can I claim this for?

The last 4 years. My understanding is you have to be 4 weeks out of work before you can apply but I'm not 100% certain on that. If you have an online revenue account you will be able to see the years but should be 2019 - 2022

I don't think you can do that anymore but open to correction on that!

I just assumed that your tax credits accumulated until you resumed working again!

You are only entitled to tax back for this year and it will be small as only feb

assuming tax returns 2018-2022 are correct

    much better applying for jobseekers

The husband of an acquaintance of mine, applied and got his back, I'm pretty sure that was just last year, so hopefully it is something that's still available. I'm pretty sure it is, just wasn't sure if I could apply for 2023 and maybe (hopefully) 2022 too.

I will be applying for a Social Welfare payment. From what I understand, if claiming SW, you have to wait 8 or 9 weeks before applying for tax back. I just can't seem to find any information on whether I can claim for the previous year as well as the current year. If it's only 2023, it would naturally be a small amount.

The tax year runs January to December. Becoming unemployed in one year has no impact on the tax you paid in other tax years. The below explains what you should do if you wish to see if you are due a refund of tax/USC for the tax year 2023 already.

There are employers crying out for staff all over the country.

Just get a new job. Any tax overpayment will be dealt with in your first pay.

Just get a job. What an idiotic thing to say. I'm actively job searching in my field. I can't take any oul job because I need to at least cover my creche fees.
