ewe with mastitis

Ewe had 2 lambs two days ago and I noticed this evening one side of her elder is hard, even though she has milk in it

I gave her a shot of penstrep. Would it be best if I give her 2 further shots over the next 2 days?

I would ..I had a ewe here the same..milk was always coming good out of the hard side.. I think she was producing more milk than the lambs could drink for the first few days..after 5 days bag felt soft again..

I did give 3 days injection to cover her

At the moment I'd say yes..I don't think she had a true mastitis though..forgot to say earlier both lambs seemed to be sucking one side at the beginning..I also milked some from.the big hard side to take pressure off..milk was perfect. Lambs 2 weeks old now and bag seems perfect to me..

If you could keep lambs separate to her for 3 or 4 hours, then allow the 2 of them to suck together, one at each side.
