    HI,

Wondering what's the most fuel efficient 7 seater, from around the 2013 - 2017 year?

Anything from LUV to SUV, Petrol, Diesel , Hybrid mix.?

I know the X-Trail are good, but they come in 1.6l or 2l - which is most fuel efficient of these ?

or anything else spring to mind?

Most likely one of the small Jap import 7 seaters such as Honda Freed, Nissan Cube, Prius Plus etc. Nissan Serena, Toyota Estima too but they are bigger and heavier.

After that maybe one of the 1.6 tdi VW group 7 seaters. VW Touran etc.

We have a MK 2 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 diesel and find it economical. I dont have figure for you but ill try and find out.

Its not quite as good as the diesel corrolla my wife had prior to the 7 seater but its not far off either.

would a 2l diesel on the average sized 7 seater be more fuel efficient than a 1.5l or 1.6l Diesel 7 seater?

Yes because it doesn't need to work as hard as a smaller engine due to the car's weight and any people in it. The harder an engine has to work then more fuel it will use.

are the Serenas worth looking at? Hard to get mechanics for and parts as well?

Would there be much of a fuel efficiency difference then between a 2l diesel 7 seater MUV and a similar size 2l diesel 7 seater SUV??

Look at the tax rate, if it’s the same rate it’ll be roughly the same on diesel.

Like for like a crossover should be a bit harder on diesel because of the higher ride height and bigger tyres.

I was at 7 seater.ie premises recently as my wife is looking at upgrading our MPV. They gave us the comparison guide attached. not sure if the price data is accurate given the current price climate but I thought it was an interesting comparison document.
