Hi, half my neighbours have phone lines and poles, upgraded recently to fibre

Other half and I have ducting of phone lines from the 60s

    No word of upgrade

Anyone know what the norm is here? Will they run fibre thru ducting, or new poles, or at all?

You need to search your eirecode on the intervention area map.

That will give you direction if nbi are building or a commercial provider.

If nbi, check your eirecode on thier website to see when your planned,

If not, speak to your current provider or check a bonkers.ie site to see what is available at your home.
