What might an Electric Fence be Costing Me Annually When On All the time

Anyone have a rough idea what a 10 Watt 220V / 50 Hz Cheta E2 Mains Fence Controller might be costing me on electricity annually if it is constantly on?

8760 hrs by 0.01 kW = 876 kWh and pick your rate, maybe 30 cents so 876*.3 = 263 euro

You know what - it's probably only 10w when it's delivering the pulse, I seem to recall these working off 12v tractor batteries and lasting for about 3 months, but running down quickly if the line is touching the ground/shorting!

I'd guess it's around 20kWh per year, so about 7 EUR p/a.

You pay a flat rate based on the wattage of the equipment (and the prevailing price of electricity). As with anything else you get ESBn to wire it up and assign an MPRN and then you pay a supplier for the electricity.
