Advice sourcing a replacing for my drivers seat

I've got a 2017 RENAULT MEGANE 1.5 DCI SPORT 1461 cc and the frame is busted on the drivers side seat. I tried to get the Renault to replace it (Its a known issue with their front seats, that and the Dacia) while it was still under warranty but it was a no go, despite complainnig and escalating, nothing. They wanted over €1000 to replace the seat and at the time it was not that bad, but its been getting worse lately. My NCT is up and I can probably push it but id rather not, I have the money right now so best to just get it done.

My local body shop said they could easily find a replacement but so far they can't really find (or they have not really looked) a replacement.

I tried the parts dept in Traynors in the north but they have nothing. If I can get a seat the local body shop will replace it for me so thinking I need to source it myself.

    Any advice?

Try Nolan autocare in Dublin 12. They have repaired seat frames for me in the past. They`ll take it out , weld it and refit it.

Small Claims Court may be an option if you want to go after Renault.

They should have looked after you.

If you can't find a second hand or it is unrepairable maybe see if there is one in UK.

My local guy did that for me, unfortunately (remembering something I did not fully understand so bear with me :D) the frame and the rail are one so it was tough to weld and because of where it broke he was not confident it would last long. It lasted between 24/36 hours 🤣

I am so tempted to be honest, thought about it a few times

Does anyone know places in Ireland I can try to look for a seat?

The lads in Nolans are doing them every day of the week. I havent had one fail on me yet.

Give them a call and explain that your lad tried to do a job on it. They might even have a frame in stock.

I think I have the issue resolved, in my searching for parts I found this

I am able to describe the part I need, dictate the make, model and year of the car and it just searchers the suppliers around Ireland and tells me what they have available, pretty cool.

Figured I'd post this in case anyone else was later in the same position.
