Radiator replacement without changing TRV

I'm trying to replace a radiator in my parents place after being let down by a few plumbers.

I want to keep the TRV/lock shield that's there for the moment (I'll tackle that another day) . So I was wondering if these valves are the same size? So can I mix and match parts from different TRVs?

I tried to get capping nut for the below part of the TRV but I wasn't able to get one that fit. Does a capping nut exist for this size?

Just realising now I could probably harvest the connection that's attached to the old radiator.
