Fairly huge news coming out of the airport today that, after 37 years, Knock will finally have a proper hub connection with a daily route to Heathrow with Aer Lingus. It means the airport will now be connected to much of the world through connections at Heathrow. Up to now it has been almost all point to point routes provided by Ryanair and a few other airlines into Knock.

In general the airport seems to have come back really well since the shutdown caused by the pandemic. All of the Flybe routes lost in 2020 have been taken up by Ryanair and it looks like being a record year for passenger numbers too - potentially looking at 850k to 900k for the year. Good to see the place continuing to do well.

Brilliant news. Great for connecting onward to Middle East, Oz etc. also much closer and easier access to central london on the underground.
