With the announcement yesterday by Josepha Madigan in relation to the teaching of foreign languages in primary school, I'm just wondering does anyone have any thoughts on the new curriculum thats coming in 2024?

I'm UK based and primary schools have had a legal responsibility to teach languages since 2014 here.

So the outcomes are very mixed. Does each school have the autonomy to decide on their own curriculum and method of delivery?

They do - https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/239042/PRIMARY_national_curriculum_-_Languages.pdf is the curriculum document that they need to make sure their curriculum delivers everything in this.

We also have the added issue of inspections, and examinations with SATs at the end of primary.
