Housing programmes for elderly

If someone is living in a council house and they’re elderly, but its far away from the centre and they don’t drive… Is there any programme to bring them closer to centre without putting them in a full blown home? Thanks

They can apply for a transfer. Suggest they contact your Council to see about older persons' accommodation https://www.dublincity.ie/residential/housing/i-rent-my-home/i-rent-city-council/moving-or-transferring-your-council-house
