The part of the Tolka Valley Park in between Mulhuddart and Parslickstown seems big enough on a map. Hopkins Park on some maps. Clonee united apparently play there.

I've driven by it a few times and there appears to be a car park on the Damastown Rd, it seems to be always closed. Is there a reason for this? does the entire park space perhaps belong to the club.

Or does the trail path along the Tolka continue on there? cant see any entrance for it on google streetview.

Apparently Fingal's "Tolka Valley Regional Park" follows the Tolka River Valley for "8km from Mulhuddard to Ashtown". Seems to be a few inaccessible sections. Tolka Valley Regional Park | Fingal County Council

The Tolka Valley Park from Glasnevin to Ashtown is lanscaped and has paved paths, but is Dublin City Council.

There's some overgrown trails between Ashtown and the M50 on the Tolka, and what looks like the remains of paths and bridges and signage in parts.

Then from the M50 theres a decent trail past Connolly Hospital, then there's paved paths from Waterstown Park all the way to Mulhuddart village - the bottom of Church Road.

Not sure if anything after that? Doesnt seem to be accessible. Except entering the pitches as a pedestrian at the Clonee United pitches on Damastown Road.

The Tolka Valley Park has been treated disgracefully by Fingal County Council.

Was it ever any different? There seems to be the remains of a trail behind Mulhuddart village, and between Connolloy hospital and ashtown? Seems like it could be an amazing amenity to open it all up.

It could, but there seems no interest. The path between Connolly hospital and Ashtown could probably even link up with Abbottstown, but the council don't appear to have any interest.

The rough trail from the M50 towards Ashtown fizzles out when it hits the River Road without an obvious way to get to Ashtown. It would be great if they could agree access and arrange upgrades (even just signage in some places) to join up the disjoint park elements. Maybe in time link in to whatever ends up happening at Dunsink too. The canal route can take the bikeway traffic so the river park can be more nature-y and less paved/developed.

Just looked at Google Maps and I can see why the plumbing works at Waterville Park are taking so long. I'd assumed it was just pipework being upgraded but I'm now not so sure the park will be reinstated.

The park has been reopened but it is a terrible job. Must be around 50 manhole covers dotted around.
