Looking for recommendations for arm/knee/shin pads or anything else people would recommend.

Have gotten away injury free thus far (touch wood) but a few friends have had injuries which has made me a bit aware.

Looking for something comfortable which doesn't impede cycling.

Have a look at O'Neil Stv top/vest/jacket got it few months ago and I find it very good. You don't feel wearing it at all and hopefully it gives a decent level of protection in case of a fall

I have the Fox titan full sleave body armour which is good but I struggled a bit last summer with the heat given the long sleaves.

Are the protectors on that o'Neal stv jacket hard foam or plastic?

They are foam. Hard foam on the spine, elbows and shoulders. Chest is a thin and soft foam out of the box but you can buy hard foam inserts as an extra. Agree it is an extra layer but I was fine in it in the summer. I've never tried a full body armour but I think O'Neil STV is a level down from it in terms of protection - better than nothing but not for hardcore shredding.

How do you find movement in the Titan? Seems to be pretty good value considering how much protection it offers and aside from the heat in Summer reviews I've seen haven't mentioned it being uncomfortable. It's as cheap as some basic foam vests online.

Its not overly restrictive and you do get used to it, obviously not as free as without but not too bad. One downside is, it's quite bulky so you have to size up one if not two jersey sizes.

It was only the climbs during very hot days during last summer that it bothered me, havent noticed it so much in previous years and probably for this summer will look for a lighter material/colour jersey. No issue it once moving on the decents.
