Tumble dryer overheating

    I checked the outlet which is not blocked, air is venting at the normal rate. Lint filter clear. What could be causing the overheating? Is the tumble dryer likely goosed?

    first thing to check is the outside flap on the wall , it needs to move freely or if it is rigid remove it and if it has a cloth filter tear it off, these are for extractors, when the dryer is pushed back against the wall is the hose kinking, if you are not sure feed something like a brush handle in from the vent outside and feed the hose onto the handle from the inside before pushing back this will prevent squashing of the hose. The lint filter may need washing as they may look ok sometimes restrict air flow, and finally if the fan is slipping on the motor shaft it will not force enough of air through the heater causing the overheating
