I watched the first three episodes on a flight yesterday. I'm not sure it fully works. However, it's got a few lines that really land, hopefully the makings of a decent teen friendship and some tricky situations for the others too.

On a flight - Jesus you're either brave or a masochist!

I'm enjoying this, though a little unsure about it too. I like watching people in their domestic situations and Jason Katims knows how to do that, don't think this the same heft as Friday Night Lights. The grief group had some nice levity to it in episode 7.

Jaysus, the line from Shay's Dad about the future was something else...in the history of TV Dads.😛

I expect some wounds will be ripped open towards the end, though.

Finished it at the weekend. Enjoyed it as a show. Of course, an Apple laptop was strategically placed as Edward was talking to the principal.

Glad the characters seemed to find some peace towards the end and the build up towards the party felt earned. 3 months isn't long for a grief group, though.
