Oil burner - leaking kerosene

My oil burner, Firebird c26 90k, is leaking oil from the pressure gauge, I've included photo of it.

I bled it about a week ago, when it suddenly stopped working. Thought it was the air, turned out to be dirty photometer.

Any way to fix it on my own? Kerosene smell is all around the house for a week now and it's hard to get a hold of a pro right now.

Have you tried to reseal the joint, Socket looks fairly butchered, Maybe it got ringed when you bled it ?

I believe there is a tiny rubber O ring on that screw. You may have damaged it.

Wish I could get you a pint, that was it!

The thing has actually fallen off without me noticing, it was on the ground the whole time. I've attached photos of it, with and without, for anyone who has the same issue in the future.

I've padded the space beneath the gauge with kitchen towels, after running the heating for an hour they are still dry.

    Glad you fixed it.

The embarrassment in front of a plumber would be worse than the cost😄
