Probably a stupid question, but I have just upgraded from 100mb to 500mb broadband with Eir. Would this require any specific installation or is it something that happens remotely?

I'm assuming you're moving from a copper line to fibre optic cable, if so a new fibre line will have to be run to the house and terminated with an ONT inside the house

Your being upgraded from fttc to ftth. This will involve the install of a new cable which fibre optic. Depending where you live will depend if work is involved. If your going from 100mb you probably live in a estate. Does Eir have an etu on side of wall. Or it could be overhead to a pole. Everybody’s different
