Help.. Lost phone

Hi guys hope i can get some help here.

So i was in a taxi last night and didn,t realise my phone had fallen out of my pocket and i left it in the taxi.I have tried ringing it (no answer)and tried the tracking thing and looks like its was on the south side this morning( sat),i was in the taxi in the north side(raheny).

So my question is who do i contact to see if it was handed in to lost property?is there a lost property for taxis because when i googled it all i can see is directions to contact the guards,is that the procedure?

Also whats the story regarding a new sim card?im with gomo so will i have to order a new one with them?and will i have the same number?any help will be really appreciated,thanks.

If you got the Taxi via a Taxi app you should have been e-mailed driver deets...

The tracking can be fairly accurate these days- by any chance is it at a taxi base? Would the phone have been on silent lessening the chances of someone hearing it ring? Might it still be in the taxi on the floor although even on silent taxi driver would likely hear the buzz or the phone lighting up.

Best you can do is take a drive to where the phone says it’s currently located- quite possibly it’s at the taxi drivers house or even at a Garda station.

There’s lots of taxi companies and likely your taxi guy was self employed- phone local Garda station - they’ll advise

Is there a PIN code to access the phone, menus etc ? Or on switching it on is it free to use ?

if I’m the taxi driver, on that’s phones discovery I’m attempting to make contact with the owner…by

1) calling someone in the address book if I can access it.

and or …

2) keeping it in my pocket, charged, so on you or whoever ringing.. I’m answering to try and reunite.

it may be that the phone fell out onto the ground when you exited the cab or the cabbie or another passenger half inched it….on seeing it in the car.

happened to me once had a load of shopping took cab from rank got home no phone. Kept ringing it eventually taxi man answered and brought it back offered them money said not thanks as I had him a few times. Was lucky for me if it's not ringing your phone is gone I think.

Stopped ringing now,phone is in bits screen smashed,really no use to anyone all i wanted was to get the photos that were on it.
