Paddy Power Machine Issue

Hi would anyone have any advice on this

Cashed out a bet on a paddy power terminal machine and got the cash out voucher

Did this in a shop when I was on holidays out west and went to cash in in my local in dublin but it wouldn't work and said invalid

asked lad in the shop what the story was and he says only way I can cash out is go back to original shop!!!!

anyone had this problem before is there anything that can be done?

Ask them to ring the shop you got the docket from.

They should be able to verify the win and authorise the Dublin shop to pay out.

It’s not the original shop some shops have updated machines you probably bet on an older one, if you’re in Dublin the one in templeogue village had old machines the last time I was there

Thanks, lad at the counter was completely unhelpful. asked him to do this but he refused and said absolutely nothing he could do which was really annoying. so will have to go in when there's a different person on

thanks for reply. I used newer machine to put on bet and tried to cash out on new machine too. lad on the counter told me it had to be original shop which I thought was completely ridiculous but he was no help at all

probably just a young lad a manager could help you i'm sure, but it has happened to me with old vs new machines. I had the same issue betting down in ennis last year

Can you scan it back into the machine? Then either print out a new one or place a one euro bet and cash out the balance?

This is what I tried to do first. Got an invalid ticket message on screen so went up the counter and the lad looked at ticket and said yeah it's not going to work because you got the cash out voucher in a different shop and you should have gone and cashed it out there and then. I said there's absolutely nothing on the cash out voucher to say that but he said that's the rules. So frustrating.

Is there anyone I can send an email to cos I feel like the shop staff will just fob me off

I should add the ticket is in perfect condition barcode fully readable and unique code at top so it's nothing to do with that

I know it doesn't solve this problem now, but why didn't you just cash it in at counter of shop you were visiting in the West?

I just didn't. Usually place bets on the machines and I find it handier to load money on with voucher instead of cash notes

You would think the local shop could ring the PP shop in the west with the bar code and have it sorted. Have you tried to resolve with PP customer service online?

No, I don't have a PP account as I don't place bets online. Would I still be able to get onto their customer service?

Online customer service said they don't deal with shop bets but gave me a phone number to call

The PP policy is that you can collect in any shop, crazy they have made it so difficult. Hope you got sorted.

Once you printed out the ticket from the shop in the west thats the only shop you can cash it in .

Its not only PP these rules apply ,boyles ladbrokes are the same .

You'll need to back there unfortunately

Never done the docket are they new a bit annoying. Just a bit strange you didn't go up when you were in the shop.

Not about betting shops but I remember when lottery tickets were out first you could only get your winning from the shop you got the tickets. Names of shop were printed on the back
